Stand By Your Brand: Kai Fragrance

Longtime customers of Horseshoe know that we LOVE Kai Fragrance. Kai creator Gaye Straza was inspired to create a scent that evoked memories from her childhood spent vacationing in Hawaii, and Kai absolutely captures the essence of tropical locales. Plus, all Kai products are vegan, cruelty free, and gluten, paraben, phosphate, phthalate, and sulfate free, so not only do they smell amazing but they're good for you, too!

Fragrance is such a personal thing, and there are too many fragrances that are simultaneously overwhelming and smell just like every other perfume out there. Horseshoe has carried Kai for many years now, and it is one of our all-time favorite fragrances because its notes of tropical flowers (like gardenia and jasmine) are distinct but not overpowering. In addition to its popular (and much loved!) perfume, Kai has a whole line of luxurious apothecary products that all feature its signature scent - we're particularly big fans of Kai's body butter, which is super sumptuous and rich.

Recently, Kai debuted its much anticipated second fragrance, Kai Rose. Kai Rose features the same white flowers found in Kai's original fragrance with a hint of rose that's subtle and compelling. Straza describes it as a scent that "...would never be mistaken for your mom’s rose. Though tipped on its head, the true essence of rose absolute is a given; the green that embodies it is a complete surprise!" (https://www.kaifragrance.com/philosophy). We're huge fans of Kai Rose, and are so excited to see what Kai does next and what directions Straza takes her company in.
